UV Curing Lamps – OEMs’ Preferred Choice
LightSources is a custom, medium pressure UV curing lamp manufacturer headquartered in Orange, Connecticut with manufacturing facilities in Connecticut and Dunakeszi, Hungary. We make it easy and convenient for you to find the best lamp for your curing applications. Our sales team can help guide you through the design process for your specific application.
Ultraviolet curing lamps are used in applications where UV-light activated inks, bonds, adhesives, and finishes (lacquers, glazes and varnishes) are used.
LightSources manufactures the three main types of UV Curing Lamps:
UV curing uses high intensity ultraviolet lights to create a photochemical reaction to instantly cure adhesives, coatings, inks, varnishes, decorative glazes and lacquers. When the correct intensity of UV light is used, a chemical reaction occurs that produces a byproduct that hardens the resin. This high-speed process is extremely effective and is suited to a range of applications in industries such as automotive, industrial, electrical, medical and optical. In fact, UV curing lamps are now the preferred choice of many OEMs worldwide as they offer a cost-effective alternative to heat-cured inks and are easy to operate and maintain.
Low pressure amalgam UV technology can cure inks, resins, and adhesives with no hazardous waste and fewer maintenance costs. Currently, there is a growing trend in many industries to change from heat-cured inks to UV-cured inks. Our proprietary low pressure pellet amalgam lamp technology produces the only lamp that allows for vertical orientation.
Medium pressure UV technology is used in many curing applications, including adhesive bonds, coatings, engraving and plating resist, inks, varnishes, lacquers and decorative glazes. Curing with UV saves on maintenance costs and produces no hazardous byproducts. More manufacturers are converting to UV curing systems.
UV Curing Offers a Safe, Energy-efficient Alternative
Light Sources along with our European partner, LightTech, are the global leaders in designing and manufacturing high-tech UV curing lamps. Our products are both energy-efficient as well as long-lasting. Also their compact design makes retrofitting easy-to-do. In addition to our line of high-quality standard lamps, our engineers will design and develop a highly customized system to meet your particular specifications. Furthermore, you can be assured that all of LightSources and LightTech UV lamps are constructed from the highest quality materials and manufactured in state-of-the-art facilities.
When energy-efficient UV curing is compared to heat curing systems, not only is it simpler to maintain but does not require expensive exhaust systems as it produces no noxious fumes. Another big advantage of instant curing is it speeds up production times as well as improves the consistency and quality of the finished product. Along with our range of UV curing lamps, we also offer medium pressure UV lamps for a variety of water and air microbial disinfection (UVC) applications. All of our UV lamps incorporate the best in proprietary technologies such as our LongLife+™ process, which allows our UVC lamps to maintain up to 80% of their output at 16,000 hours.
With over 40 years of experience in the manufacturing of HPUV, MPUV, and LPUV lamps, let our expertise and knowledge make it easy for you to find the best lamp for your UV curing needs.
