LightSources is a leader among far UVC light companies, now offering its own Far UV lamp solutions backed by our decades of experience in engineering specialty UVC germicidal lamp solutions for all disinfection applications. Headquartered in the U.S. and partnered with LightTech in Europe, LightSources is positioned to deliver high-quality UVC lamps that meet engineering and delivery needs for a variety of industrial demands.
We follow strict quality policies as part of our ISO9001:2015 registration and conduct continual research and development to offer first-to-market, proprietary UVC lamp technologies. Our UVC germicidal lamp products are proven effective and offer unique advantages over other products.
Far UVC Lamp Company
Our far UVC lamps are available in a 20W option, with other power options available upon request. LightSources employs high-tech UV light engineers with in-depth knowledge of ultraviolet radiation and lamp design and development, offering custom-designed UV lamp solutions and prototype development.
Excimer refers to a temporary atomic state in which high-energy, electronically excited atoms create temporary molecular partners, or dimers. Excited dimers, or excimers, are released as UVC photons. Excimer refers to the homodimeric bond between molecules of the same species, for example, xenon (Xe). Excited xenon dimers are used in xenon Excimer lamps and create UV radiation in the range of 172 nm.
A bond of two different structural species, such as Krypton-chloride (KrCl), is called a heterodimeric bond or an exciplex. An exciplex of KrCl creates UV photons in the wavelength of 222 nm, which is also referred to as far UVC and recognized for providing strong antimicrobial properties. Both excimer and exciplex lamps are typically referred to as Excimer lamps as the generally accepted term for lamps that create 172 nm and 222 nm, respectively.
Far UVC Excimer Lamps
Our far UVC lamps are the result of intense research, engineering, and development, offering far UVC technology in the Excimer lamp series. Properly filtered Far UVC technology is gaining interest as 3rd party studies show germicidal efficacy with improved safety over traditional 254 nm lamps. Conventional UVC germicidal lamps should only operate in unoccupied spaces as they could pose potential harm to human eyes and skin. Properly filtered Far UVC lamps operating at 222nm has higher acceptable 8-hour exposure thresholds (than that of 254nm light) per the 2022 TLV’S and BEI’s publication produced by the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH).
LightSources’ Far UVC lamps provide an effective germicidal wavelength for the eradication of most microbes and mold spores on surfaces, in the air, and in water. Learn more about our far UVC lamps and see Excimer lamp product specifications here.
