UVC OzoneLightSources and LightTech offer UVC ozone lamps which are constructed of high-quality quartz glass. The wavelength of ultraviolet (UV) emissions is determined by the type of fused quartz used in constructing the envelope of the germicidal lamp. UVC germicidal lamps emit UV radiation between 100 and 280 nanometers (nm) for highly effective disinfection power.

UVC radiation in the wavelength of 254 nm is proven to be most effective at killing harmful microorganisms in many germicidal applications for air, water, and surfaces. UV wavelengths harnessed at 185 nm are used in systems that produce ozone, a proven oxidizer that eliminates odor in the air and microbial contaminants in water. UVC lamps that produce ozone emit UV radiation of less than 220 nm which decompresses the oxygen (O²) in the air, to produce ozone, (O³).

Ozone-generating germicidal lamps eradicate foul odor and harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as sulfides, mercaptans, and ammonia. One distinct advantage of ozone is that it can be carried in the air to places where direct UV radiation cannot reach. UV radiation at 254 nm instantly eliminates bacteria and viruses upon contact, whereas ozone-generating lamps in a UV air purification system provide an additional deodorizing effect.

UVC Ozone Germicidal Lamps

The LightSources Group offers UVC ozone germicidal lamps in Very High (VH) lamp designs constructed of clear fused quartz. Our Low (L) lamps produce germicidal effectiveness at 254 nm with a specially doped fused quartz which prohibits energy emissions at 185 nm. The clear quartz construction allows for uninterrupted 185 nm emission in ozone-generating lamps.

VH lamps are used in many germicidal applications including pool, spa, and water disinfection applications. VH lamps are also used in applications where reduction of total organic compounds (TOCs) is the goal. UVC ozone lamps are also used in some HVAC air purification systems. LightSources and LightTech provide total OEM solutions with experienced engineers skilled in UV radiation and UVC ozone-producing lamps.

LightSources Offers UVC Ozone Germicidal Lamps

We offer a wide selection of standard and UVC ozone germicidal lamp solutions. Our Low-Pressure Mercury Discharge lamps are constructed with either quartz or soda-lime glass to allow either 254 nm or 185 nm to pass through the lamp unmodified. We also offer Medium Pressure Mercury Discharge lamps which are similar to a high-intensity discharge (HID) lamp to emit broad-band UVC radiation rather than narrow-band emissions.

In addition to a wide selection of standard lamp solutions, we offer custom design and engineering of UV germicidal lamps to meet your specifications. For applications that require a moderate amount of ozone, our engineering team will splice together the two types of quartz required to provide the desired amount of ozone emissions. LightSources offers many benefits to OEMs large and small with decades of experience and proven germicidal solutions worldwide.

OEMs realize many advantages when partnering with LightSources such as:

  • Proven germicidal solutions to a wide range of air and water disinfection applications
  • Exclusive use of our high-quality quartz glass
  • Disinfection, deodorization, and oxidation
  • Customized lamp solutions developed with proprietary technology
